The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications & Technology (MPTT) is one of the ministries whose mandate is to develop the economy using a number of ICT interventions and initiatives. 3.Re-establishment of National Telecommunications Institute
The National Telecommunications Institute was Somalia’s first and only academic institution providing telecommunication education in Somalia. Established in 1976, the Institute building has been destroyed in the civil war.
However, the Institute has successfully started offering short ICT courses using a temporary space at the Ministry headquarters until its official premises in reconstructed.
Once the Institute is back to operation, it will service as a training center to develop the ICT capacity of civil servants and other staff working for public institutions.
